Soils CTTP 97-012

This course requires the use of the nuclear density gauge; each participant must show evidence of having attended a radiation safety course, and provide their own radiation dosimeter; failure to do so will result in the person being ineligible for the course.

Classes commence at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

This course covers laboratory and field tests related to earthwork, with particular emphasis on soil classification, plasticity index, moisture-density gauge. The procedures covered are those prescribed by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (2003 Edition), to include the following.
