Basic Aggregates CTTP 97-011

This class is a mandatory prerequisite to each of the follow-on Technician training/certification courses, but must be completed only once; those seeking certification in more than one specialty area should take Basic Aggregates immediately prior to their first Technician course.

Classes commence at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and end at noon on Wednesday.

This Course covers sampling and testing of aggregates used in gradework, base courses, Portland cement concrete and hot-mix asphalt concrete, with particular emphasis on gradation and specific gravity determinations. The procedures covered are those prescribed by the Arkansas State Highway and transportation Department (AHTD) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (2003 Edition), to include the following.
