• Prepare a Quality Manual.

The Quality Manual for the candidate laboratory should closely follow the requirements set forth in AASHTO R-18; under the CTTP Laboratory Certification Program, AASHTO R-18 provides the guiding principles for ensuring quality in a construction laboratory.

An example Quality Manual is available from CTTP and should include the following items:

1. Company and personnel information
2. Equipment inventory
3. Equipment calibration or verification
4. Schedule the "on-site" inspection for certification through CTTP
