AASHTO Accredited laboratories, in most cases, will automatically be granted CTTP Laboratory Certification. However, you must apply for CTTP certification. The certification process includes the follow steps

  1. Complete a laboratory certification enrollment form. In the space for "Certification Area" write RECIPROCAL CERTIFICATION FOR AASHTO ACCREDITATION IN, SOILS, ASPHALT, CONCRETE (list all those that apply).

  1. Attach a copy of your current AASHTO accreditation certificate and clearly indicate the specific test(s) for which the AASHTO accreditation is valid. Failure to do so may result in a delay, or in a rejection of a reciprocal certification from CTTP!

  1. Submit your form, via fax or mail to CTTP.

NOTES:

AASHTO accreditation is granted for compliance with specific tests, it is not a "blanket" accreditation! If your AASHTO accreditation does not include certain specific tests required by CTTP, you must either pursue AASHTO accreditation in those tests, or apply for CTTP "limited" certification for those tests.

If your AASHTO accreditation sufficiently covers all required CTTP tests, your fee for obtaining each reciprocal CTTP certification is $100/ Area of Certification. If your AASHTO accreditation DOES NOT cover all required CTTP tests, and you choose not to pursue AASHTO accreditation for those tests, you must enroll in the CTTP program at normal program fees.

Reciprocal accreditation will be valid on a year to year basis with expiration dates coinciding with those issued by AASHTO. Each year upon receipt of the new AASHTO certificate, a copy of the certificate and a renewal fee of $100/ area of certification must be forwarded to CTTP offices.
